Black Beauty is one of a kind! Our smallest pony, she has a big heart and a personality to match. Before she came to the farm, she had a tough life as a driving pony. She was mishandled, scared and only has one eye (don’t tell her!). But Beauty has found her purpose at Fox Run Farm and with loving care, she has turned into a sweet, reliable, fun pony who is a farm favorite. She teaches lessons, shows in dressage and over fences and loves to trail ride. She is a regular in our hunter paces and costume contests. She is a big amount of joy in a small pony package!
Mojo is half Percheron and half Morgan. He is very sweet but also a very talented dressage horse. In 2023, one of our young students won the Central Tennessee Dressage Association year end championship in her division. He is a big boy at 16.3 hands and has a big personality. When he is not being shown, he teaches lessons and helps our students learn the finer points of dressage.
Brandy is a Paint mare who has a huge fan club at Fox Run Farm. She is dependable, patient and kind and has taught countless people, young and old, to ride. She loves to trail ride and also shows at our farm in dressage and lower level jumping. She and one of our students won the inaugural Fox Run Farm Musical Kur Classic. She belongs to Ms. Stacey Nelson who has kindly retired her here so she can continue to make riding dreams come true.
Paso is a pretty, black Thoroughbred ex-racehorse who raced in Puerto Rico for many years. When he was retired, we purchased him to be a school horse at our farm. When he first arrived, one of our Puerto Rican student‘s family used to come speak Spanish to him so he wouldn’t feel lonely. That began a love affair that resulted in him being purchased by the McClellan family. They now share him with our students and he teaches lessons. Paso is a very sweet, albeit lazy, fellow who loves attention and treats!
Curly is our resident gentle giant. A 17 hand Thoroughbred, he is a son of the famous Curlin. As luck would have it, he didn’t race but was used as a pony horse at the racetrack. He now teaches lessons and is so patient and quiet that he is an excellent beginners’ horse. Young and old, little and big, beginner or not, students love Curly and his teddy bear persona. Despite his size, he doesn’t like to jump but you will find him in every dressage show at the farm!
Halime is a beautiful little bay Arabian mare. She came to us as a jumping pony, but there is a hidden dresssage horse in her. She is kind, quiet and is as good at teaching beginners as she is at taking a more advanced student around a jump course. She won the 2023 Fox Run Farm Musical Kur Classic paired with another Arabian riding in costume to “Arabian Nights.“ She is a willing lesson partner and has a big fan club of little girls!
Zion is a Dutch Warmblood gelding who belongs to Sean Wallace. He is a lovely dressage horse and is great at helping dressage students learn lateral work and how to ride from one’s leg. He is a bit on the lazy side but will reward students greatly when they ride correctly. He is gentle and loves attention and we also use him fmri teach unmounted lessons.
Comanche, more fondly known as “Manchi,” is an 11.3 hand wonder pony. He belongs to Danielle Crane who generously allows us to use him in our lesson program. Manchi is a very sweet pony and he’s as patient and kind as he is cute!
Pacheco is a true gentleman and has a kind heart and truly gentle nature. We believe he has had a rough past and he seems grateful to be at our farm. He is sweet enough to be a staple in our unmounted lesson program but also teaches lessons, participates in shows and dances in our musical Kur competition. He is a beautiful white when he hasn’t been playing in a mud puddle and we suspect a unicorn horn appears at night when we are all sleeping!
Tinkerbell is fairly new to our school program but she is fitting right in. We don’t know her story but we don’t believe it was a happy one. When she first got here, she was reserved and seemed to be waiting for the other shoe to drop. But she absolutely loves kids and could not be happier than when 3 or 4 little girls are braiding her hair and giving her a spa treatment. We are slowly gaining her trust and she is showing us just how smart and willing and fancy she is. She is also sensible and gentle and kind and we are looking forward to having her in our lesson program!
Korissa is Elizabeth’s dressage horse. But she also gets to teach students what a true dressage horse feels like. She is a bay Rhineland mare who loves to work and offers her heart every time. She is willing and kind but also fancy and a pretty mover. If you get the opportunity to ride her you won’t soon forget her as one student said, “she is glorious!”
Ollie is a new addition to Fox Run Farm. He is a Thoroughbred who raced for 8 years and his registered name is Report to Ole. He is a descendent of Secretariat, but although he inherited his color, he didn’t inherent any of his speed!
Ollie was in an unfortunate situation when we got him and was very depleted. He is a very kind horse who loves kids and attention. He is learning to build his body correctly and as soon as he gains enough weight, he will join our school horses and teach lessons. We are fortunate to be able to help this wonderful guy out and look forward to his progress.
Fly Guy has returned to Fox Run Farm! This Morgan/Thoroughbred cross began his dressage and jumping training with us. His young owner grew up and he went with her. Now that she has a family, she has kindly let him come back to teach lessons. He is a very nice dressage horse and can also jump like a champ. We are excited to have him back… thank you, Sierra Copeland!
